HOOSIER BASKETBALL MAGAZINE’S BOYS TOP 60 SENIOR WORKOUT - CANCELED FOR 2020
UPDATED FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2020 With the state of Indiana closing schools for the remainder of the acidemic year and the IHSAA canceling spring sports there is no way that Hoosier Basketball Magazine can hold its 2020 Boys Top 60 Senior Workout nor an unsigned workout for seniors this year. Thank you for your understanding.
During the month of March, over the past 32 years, Hoosier Basketball Magazine has released its players list for the Top 60 Senior Workout (formerly known as the Top 40). For the 2019-20 basketball season this event was scheduled for Sunday, March 29th at Marian University in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and the fact that the IHSAA has canceled its 2020 boys basketball state tournament, the 2020 Hoosier Basketball Magazine Boys Top 60 Senior Workout has also been canceled for this season.
At this time even though the Top 60 Workout will not take place as normal, Hoosier Basketball Magazine is considering an Unsigned Senior Workout for the class of 2020. With Indiana schools closed through at least May 1st, an Unsigned Senior Workout could only be held in late May if at all. The Indiana/Kentucky All-Star team will most likely be announced before any event that Hoosier Basketball Magazine can organize, but there has been communication with college coaches and they seem interested in an Unsigned Senior Workout for the spring of 2020.
More details about this possible event will be determined and announced in April. Please note Hoosier Basketball Magazine named a list of top seniors for the 2019-20 season. That list can be viewed at hoosierbasketballmagazine.com. Also, follow Hoosier Basketball Magazine on Twitter at HoosierBasketball@HBBMagazine.
About the Top 60 Senior Workout ... Over the past 32 years the senior workouts for both boys and girls have been open to the public and have a tri-fold purpose: 1.) To give the best players of the graduating class an opportunity to meet and compete. 2.) To afford those same seniors additional exposure from college coaches in attendance. 3.) Even though not a tryout, this event does give Indiana/Kentucky All-Star officials an opportunity to view top seniors who had already received votes via their official All-Star balloting system.
The 2019-2020 issue of Hoosier Basketball Magazine is still available on many newsstands statewide including Barnes & Noble, Kroger, Meijer, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS and Martin’s Supermarket.
